  • Oppose the 500-space multi-story carpark for White Bay Cruise Terminal

Sign our petition to oppose the multi-story car park for White Bay Cruise terminal. Help keep the Bays West Precinct a low-traffic area.

    640 signatures

Our community deserves liveable neighbourhoods, with safe streets that make it easy to walk, ride a bike, or use public transport.

Disappointingly, suburbs neighbouring the White Bay Cruise Terminal could soon face more traffic and congestion, with a 500-space multi-story car park proposal now on the table.

This proposed development undermines the broader plans for the Bays West Precinct, which has been identified as a low-traffic area. The NSW State Government has plans to reduce private car use across the precinct, aiming for a target of just 5% private vehicle trips.

Encouraging more visitors to drive to the Cruise Terminal undermines the low-traffic approach for the broader Bays West Precinct.

Please add your name to our petition, calling on the Minister for Transport to oppose the development of a 500-space multi-story car park at White Bay Cruise Terminal.

To the NSW Minister for Transport,

We call on the NSW Government to keep its commitment to a low-traffic Bays West Precinct and oppose the construction of a new multi-story car park at White Bay Cruise Terminal.

  • Stop the Cuts to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Midwives

Sign our petition to stop the cuts to midwives at Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) Hospital Sydney.

    3,322 signatures

Inner West families deserve access to world-class maternity services, and our nurses and midwives deserve job security.

Right now, 15-20 full-time midwifery positions are on the chopping block at Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) Hospital here in Sydney. These senseless cuts could also see nine beds in the postnatal ward close as part of the sweeping changes outlined by the Sydney Local Health District.

We know NSW nurses and midwives are chronically short-staffed and underfunded, with the lowest wages in the country. This move is the latest in a string of bad decisions that could deliver poorer health outcomes for parents and babies.

The NSW Labor Government cannot allow these cuts to proceed.

Please sign our petition calling on the NSW Health Minister to intervene and prevent these dangerous cuts to midwifery staffing at RPA Hospital.

To the NSW Minister for Health,

We call on the NSW Government to intervene to stop the dangerous cuts to midwifery staffing and beds at Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) Hospital.

  • Ban Gambling Advertising in NSW

Sign our petition to help ban gambling advertising in NSW.

    506 signatures

Children and young people should be able to use their devices without being exposed to harmful gambling advertising.

Disappointingly, both the NSW Labor Government and the Federal Government have refused to take action to ban harmful gambling advertising.

Australia already has the highest per capita gambling losses of any country in the world, and experts have warned that exposure to gambling advertising fuels riskier betting behaviour.

South Australia took action to restrict gambling advertising in the state, including black-out periods on television and radio, but Premier Chris Minns is refusing to follow suit. How many more people will develop gambling addictions or face hefty losses before the government acts?

Please sign our petition calling on the NSW Premier to take action.

    Dear Premier,

We call on the NSW Government to work with the Federal Government to ban harmful gambling advertising in NSW.

  • Creating Safer Streets at 30km/h

Please sign our petition supporting safer speeds of 30km/h on local streets

    380 signatures

Imagine a city where streets are built as shared spaces for people, not just cars. Where kids can safely walk and ride to school, and where more people are comfortable hopping on their bikes to get to work, rather than sitting in endless traffic. This is what we should be aspiring to achieve, in a global city like Sydney.

The expert evidence is clear that the best way to create safer and more liveable neighbourhoods is to introduce safer speeds of 30km/h on local streets.

A person struck by a vehicle at 50km/h has only a 10% chance of survival. At 30km/h, the survival rate increases to 90%. Safer speeds on local streets keep everyone safe, regardless of whether they're walking, riding their bike, or driving their car.

Please sign our petition calling on the Minister for Roads to introduce safer speeds of 30km/h on local streets.

We call on the Minister for Roads to improve our streets for everyone by supporting safer speeds of 30km/h on local streets.

  • Ferry Service for Annandale

Please sign our petition calling on the NSW Minister for Transport to deliver a much-needed ferry service for Annandale.

    620 signatures

Imagine hopping on the ferry in Annandale and heading straight across the harbour into the CBD. A ferry wharf in Annandale would increase the number of public transport options available for our community, lower daily travel costs, and help reduce congestion in our suburbs.

The NSW Government has told our community they will deliver a ferry for Annandale, but we're now more than two years into the current government and the ferry is nowhere to be seen. With congestion in Annandale worse than ever after the opening of the Rozelle Interchange, the government needs to act quickly to reduce traffic.

Please join us in calling on the NSW Minister for Transport to deliver the new ferry service for Annandale.

We call on the NSW Minister for Transport to deliver a much-needed ferry service for Annandale to help relieve congestion and provide quicker, cheaper, and more sustainable transport options for our community.

  • Reopen the Glebe Island Bridge

Please sign our petition calling on the NSW Minister for Transport to restore and reopen the Glebe Island Bridge

    1,405 signatures

Imagine having a dedicated walking and cycling link between Rozelle and Pyrmont. The long abandoned Glebe Island Bridge is a missing link that would significantly improve walking and cycling opportunities in our city, providing a safe and scenic link for pedestrians and cyclists alike.

Community advocates have worked to restore the Glebe Island Bridge for more than a decade. After years of inaction, it's so disappointing to hear NSW Labor suggest that we will be waiting until 2030 to see this bridge reopened.

With congestion on the peninsula making it harder to get into the city than ever before, the NSW Government needs to prioritise reopening the Glebe Island Bridge to give people a safer walking and cycling option. This would also help lower transport costs for our community.

We call on the NSW Minister for Transport to prioritise restoring and reopening the Glebe Island Bridge to improve walking and cycling links for our community.

  • Restore the Balmain East Seawall

Please sign our petition calling on the NSW Labor Government to prioritise restoring the Balmain East Seawall

    279 signatures

Our foreshore must be accessible for pedestrians to enjoy, but for two years, the Balmain East Seawall has been out of action.

I've raised this issue in Parliament and the Government has suggested it will take until at least the end of the year for the path to be re-opened for our community.

Our community deserves better. The Government needs to stop the delays and prioritise restoring this important path so everyone can enjoy the beauty of our harbour.

Please join us in calling on the Government to act now to restore the Balmain East Seawall for our community.

We call on the NSW Minister for Transport to prioritise the restoration of the Balmain East Seawall for our community.

  • 50 Cent Public Transport Fares

Please sign our petition below to support 50 cent public transport fares for NSW.

    1,895 signatures

Our community deserves affordable public transport that gets us where we want to go when we want to get there.

Unfortunately, Sydney’s public transport system is often unreliable, with fares that are far higher than other states in Australia and other countries around the world. Sydney commuters spend an average of $50 a week on public transport, or $2600 a year. In a cost of living crisis, this adds up.

That's why we're calling on the NSW Government to introduce 50 cent public transport fares across the state. Lowering fares to 50c would save full-time workers a whopping $2,160 a year. Please add your name to our petition, to support 50c public transport fares in NSW.

We call on the NSW Premier to introduce 50 cent public transport fares to lower daily transport costs for our community.

  • Support a Permanent Crane at Balmain Shipyards

Please sign our petition to the Minister for Transport, supporting the installation of a fixed crane at the Balmain Shipyards.

    38 signatures

Our community deserves streets that are peaceful and safe to access. Unfortunately, residents of Waterview Street, Balmain have faced significant disruption, and ongoing safety concerns from large cranes repeatedly using this narrow street for access to the Balmain Shipyards.

Residents are given little to no warning before large cranes are sent down their narrow street. These cranes can restrict resident access to their homes, and they raise serious concerns for the safety of pedestrians, and the potential risk of damage to parked vehicles.

The NSW Government needs to invest in a permanent crane for Balmain Shipyards to avoid these ongoing safety and access concerns. Please sign our petition calling on the Minister to prioritise the installation of a permanent crane at Balmain Shipyards.

We call on the Minister for Transport to:

    • Commit to installing a permanent crane at Balmain Shipyard as a matter of priority.
    • In the interim, provide clear notice and mitigation plans for any future disruptions cause by cranes accessing the shipyard via Waterview Street.

Please sign our petition to support a safe solution for our community.

  • Share Your Story: Cruise Ship Pollution at White Bay

Our community deserves clean air free from the toxic fumes of cruise ships. But for over a decade, we've been forced to endure the polluting diesel fumes from the cruising industry's oldest and dirtiest ships, right in our backyard.

In March, Parliament will debate my Bill for mandatory shore power at White Bay Cruise Terminal. This Bill will ensure that all ships docking at White Bay Cruise Terminal are required to have the capacity to plug into shore power and switch off their engines.

This debate in Parliament is a chance to have your voice heard. I want to hear your stories about how the pollution has impacted you, and what it would mean for you if all ships docking at White Bay were required to turn off their diesel engines and use shore power.

Please use the form below to share your story, and how you've been impacted. I'll relay impact statements from our community during my speech in Parliament, to ensure your voices are heard.
