Imagine an Inner West built for everyone. Where people can find an affordable place to call home, surrounded by frequent and reliable public transport, schools, sporting fields and plenty of green space.
This future is within reach, but not if we allow the Labor-led Inner West Council to push through with stage 2 of their so-called ‘Fairer Future’ plan.
Inner West Council has published the second stage of their housing plan, which includes proposals to upzone large swathes of our suburbs, including portions of Annandale, Balmain, Lilyfield, Leichhardt, and Rozelle. They've given residents only 6 short weeks to have their say on these complex planning proposals, with submissions closing on the 28th of October.
This isn't what genuine community consultation looks like. Join us outside the Inner West Council meeting to call for an extension to the consultation window, alongside meaningful opportunities for input.
