PLANNING FOR COMMUNITIES
Our community deserves well-planned neighbourhoods with affordable homes, green space, and the infrastructure needed to support current and future residents.
Too often, development is driven by profit rather than good planning, leaving communities without the services and amenity they need. I’m pushing for density done well, with affordable, sustainable, and well-connected suburbs to support our growing community.
OUR PLAN FOR BETTER CITIES
- Density done well - Support increased density in well-located suburbs supported by public transport connections and essential infrastructure.
- Homes people can afford – Deliver genuinely affordable homes, including public, social and universal housing on public land to deliver long-term affordability.
- Climate-ready buildings - New developments must be energy efficient, climate resilient and affordable to heat in the winter and keep cool in the summer.
- Invest in infrastructure first - Deliver schools, parks, public transport, walking and cycling infrastructure, hospitals, and sporting facilities up front to ensure growing communities have their needs met.
- Ample green space - The Inner West has some of the least green space per person in greater Sydney. Green space must be a priority, particularly in areas with higher-density apartments.
