Our community deserves reliable and frequent public transport.
Earlier this year, after sustained advocacy, we secured increased services on the L1 Light Rail to every 6 minutes during weekday peak times and weekends. This was a big win for our community.
We know there has been a lot of pressure on the light rail, particularly since the opening of the new Sydney Fish Market, and morning peak services are frequently overcrowded. The increased frequency of services has been fantastic and will help reduce overcrowding and ensure more people can use public transport. We know more is needed.
With more development on the way across our suburbs, it's critical that the NSW government works proactively to increase both the capacity and the frequency of this well-used service.
Please join us in calling on the NSW state government to increase the number of services on the L1 Light Rail.
To the NSW Minister for Transport, we call on you to:
- Increase the capacity of the L1 Light Rail Service
- Further increase the frequency of services on the L1 Light Rail
- Ensure transport capacity increases in line with new developments across our suburbs
