Imagine a thriving and sustainable Victoria Road - a safe and enjoyable place for our community to come together. Instead, the Rozelle corridor of Victoria Road is a polluted and unwelcoming traffic-sewer.

When the Rozelle Interchange opens, there will be a toll-free underground bypass of Victoria Road between the Iron Cove Bridge and the ANZAC Bridge that will significantly reduce traffic along Victoria Road.

The previous Government had committed to delivering a revitalised Victoria Road for our community, but the new Government is wavering on this commitment. With the toll-free bypass scheduled to open later this year, we have a limited window to transform Victoria Road.

Dear Minister Graham,
    
I’m writing today to urge you to support the revitalisation of Victoria Road. Our community has endured a great deal of disruption throughout the construction of the WestConnex tollway. This has included property damage to many homes and buildings, intrusive dust, noise and vibration at all hours, major traffic, and transport disruptions.
    
As you know, the toll-free Iron Cove Link is expected to open later this year, and with it will come a significant reduction in traffic on Victoria Road.
    
The previous Liberal government had committed to revitalising this corridor for the community. I hope to see the new Labor government uphold these earlier commitments. This is a once in a generation opportunity to revitalise Victoria Road – if the government doesn’t act now, the chance will be lost.
    
Will you commit to re-allocating this road space at minimal short-term cost - to ensure the opportunity to transform Victoria Road is not lost? After so many years of disruption, the community deserves to see the plans to revitalise Victoria Road come to fruition.
